Educating Veterans and Realtors Alike at Center of Outreach Effort
March 29, 2017. Carlsbad, CA – As if on a personal mission to educate fellow veterans about their widely-underutilized VA Home Loan benefits, John McDade is once again crisscrossing America in search of new disciples in the realtor and VA borrowing communities.
The 2017 “Power of VA Home Financing National Tour” makes its third stop in southern California, this time in Carlsbad. The seminar- free to realtor and borrowers alike, will be held Thursday April 20, from 10:00AM-12:00PM at 906 Sycamore Avenue, Suite 104, in Vista, CA,
iServe Residential Lending is sponsoring the nationwide series of seminars, with an “eye” on educating mortgage and real estate professionals on how to service local active military and veterans through the VA Home Loan Program. The VA Home Loan Program is one of the most important benefits available through the Department of Veterans Affairs. The benefit offers active duty, veterans, select reservists and members of the National Guard, an opportunity at affordable home ownership.
“Unfortunately, the program is underutilized as approximately 8% of the people eligible for the benefit have taken advantage of the opportunity,” states McDade, himself a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and 40 years in the home mortgage business.
The program is often misunderstood or discouraged by many mortgage and real estate professionals. In addition, veterans themselves “haven’t embraced the program due to previous experiences or a general misunderstanding of it”, McDade added.
To help inform both the realtor community, where many home loans originate, and VA consumers alike, McDade and his road show are visiting cities throughout the west, southwest, central and eastern regions this year.

Approximately 72 high school seniors participate in the program interning at nearly 60 companies in a multitude of industries. We are honored to be one of them.
